Habits & Hobbies

For those of you that have known me for a while, you’ll remember that I lost about 50 pounds a couple of years ago on Weight Watchers & that was a welcome & wonderful change. I continued my healthy eating habits, through my pregnancy with Alyssa, which proved beneficial, because I didn’t gain very much with her & when she was born, I almost instantly got my “old body” back. In the time since, though, I had kind of abandoned the good habits I’d learned & therefore decided it was time to “get back on the wagon”. I’ve only got between 15 – 20 pounds to lose, to get back to my “goal weight” once more, so it shouldn’t be too bad… I just have to remember to stick with it! Unfortunately, I’ve realized this was probably the worst week to start back up, mostly due to Valentine’s Day and Jeremy’s Birthday. We had cake for a few days, followed by the fact that my family got me chocolates, which are wonderful, but I have to eat them in moderation, now, ha-ha! But, the thing I love about the program is that you don’t have to deny yourself anything – a little snacking is ok, as long as you don’t totally go overboard with it. And, despite the fact that I *did* eat some “not-so-great-for-you” foods this week, I actually lost 2 pounds already, which is a great, new start! Wish me luck on my second “weight loss journey”! I know that God will be with me, as always & anything is possible with Him! 🙂

Speaking of possibilities, I was able to get back into a hobby of mine that I haven’t had time for in a while, just this past Friday. My Mom, a good friend & I all went to Scrapbooks Galore & More. It was sooo nice! Jeremy watched the girls for me & let me go have a “day out” with these other two wonderful ladies in my life! We met up for breakfast at a little café called Savoy, which was delicious, by the way. Then, on to “crop ‘til we dropped” – we were out from about 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Even though I only got 1 scrapbook page done during that time, it was really enjoyable! I also was able to shop & get ideas & picked up a few “goodies”, too. I can’t say enough about the memorable day; the best thing was the company I was with, of course. Good family & friends make for good times, that’s for sure! I hope we all get a chance to go out & do it again, soon!
